• Purchase Information: When you purchase OwnInvoice, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your name, email address, and payment details. We receive your email address and a record of the transaction but do not store your credit card information.
• License Activation: When you activate your license key, we store a hashed machine identifier to verify your license. This identifier cannot be used to identify you or your device.
• Support Requests: If you contact us for support, we collect your email address and the content of your message.

Information We Do Not Collect

• Your invoices, quotes, or credit notes
• Your client or customer information
• Your financial or revenue data
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Browsing history or cookies from the desktop app

2. How We Use Your Information

• To deliver your license key after purchase
• To verify license activation
• To provide customer support
• To send important product updates (you can opt out at any time)

3. Data Storage & Security

All your business data (invoices, clients, items, settings) is stored locally on your computer in a SQLite database. We never upload, access, or transmit this data.

Purchase records and license keys are stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment transactions. stripe.com/privacy
• GitHub: Hosting application downloads. GitHub's privacy policy applies when downloading the application.

If you choose to integrate third-party payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, Square, GoCardless, Authorize.Net) within OwnInvoice, those connections are made directly from your computer to the gateway. We do not intermediate or have access to those connections.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your personal data from our systems
• Opt out of any marketing communications
• Export or delete your local OwnInvoice data at any time (it's on your computer)

6. Cookies

The gritsoftware.dev website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. The OwnInvoice desktop application does not use cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

OwnInvoice is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
